Automatic return to the sender after a failed delivery
Please, note that if the delivery fails, it is a different case. When the courier was not able to deliver a package, you receive a notification, from the courier company in charge of your shipment, that says that the package is being returned to the sender. There are many reasons this can happen, you can read a bit more on the subject on our blog to understand why that was the case of your shipment. The delivery time tends to be longer when this happens because returned packages are not a priority for them. Moreover with some courier companies, if this occurs, you might have to pay additional charges for the package to be delivered to the shipper. The parcel is usually returned to the sender if the two delivery attempts failed and if the parcel has still not be picked up after a week. If you want to avoid all the hassle, please make sure someone will be able to receive the package or to pick it up in the nearest depot or pick up point.
