Flybe cabin luggage

Travellers flying with Flybe can carry inside the cabin, free of charge, one standard Flybe hand luggage with the size of 55 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm, which also includes wheels and handles, and also a small personal item like a handbag or laptop briefcase. This small bag has to fit under the seat in front of the passenger.

The combined weight of the cabin baggage and smaller personal item must not exceed 10 kg.

If the passenger needs to bring more baggage to the flight, he/she will need to purchase extra baggage.

Flybe checked baggage fee

According to the Flybe baggage policy, a passenger can, in exchange for a fee, bring checked baggage of up to 15 kg, standard baggage up to 23 kg or two pieces of baggage up to 46 kg in total. Hold baggage allowance can be purchased only for a round trip. Prices vary from €27 to €75 and depend on the type of hold luggage while different fees apply to depend on whether the allowance is purchased online, through the call centre or at the airport.

When it comes to additional fees for excess baggage, Flybe charges €20 for each kilogram that exceeds the standard allowance.

Alternative to excess baggage fees

Flybe excess baggage costs can significantly increase the total cost of the flight ticket. Shipping the luggage instead of carrying it around can be the best solution to avoid extra costs.

You will be able to keep the budget down and avoid the hassle of carrying your items around. To determine the final cost for shipping your luggage to your destination, use our calculator and you will be provided with a final price.

Flybe musical instruments policy

According to the Flybe baggage allowance for musical instruments, the passenger can take a musical instrument on a plane for an extra fee. The price depends on the dimensions of the musical instrument. For the large musical instruments, such as cello, the passenger has to buy a seat inside the cabin where they can accommodate the instrument. Violins can also be transported in the cabin if their maximum dimensions do not exceed 30 cm x 30 cm x 100 cm.

Celtic harps, on the other hand, can only be transported in the cargo hold and their dimensions cannot exceed 1.25m x 0.25m x 0.85 m. The extra fee applied for musical instruments starts at €40.

Ship your items instead

Shipping a musical instrument or shipping sports equipment instead of taking it on the plane might be the best solution for those who want to travel on a budget. Eurosender can prepare a tailored offer to accommodate your needs.

Flybe pet policy

When it comes to taking pets on the plane, Flybe sets certain restrictions, which depend on the type and size of the pet and also on the route the traveller is flying to. The animal (only dogs, cats and ferrets) can travel in the cargo hold of the airplane.

Alternative to airline baggage fees – Eurosender

Choosing a low-cost airline is a good option when travelling on a budget. However, the flight costs can significantly increase if you have many items that you want to take with you. The fees for extra-baggage, for oversized or overweight baggage, can add up quickly and turn a cheap flight ticket into a rather expensive one.

Eurosender provides an alternative by offering access to affordable shipping services. You will save the time that is otherwise spent at the check-in counters at the airport, avoid the hassle of carrying your luggage around and keep your travel costs low. The services are dedicated to people who go on business trips, study abroad or simply go on vacation.

Every shipment has a basic insurance coverage included in the price of the shipping while the coverage, should you so require, can also be higher. We only work with the most reputable logistics providers in Europe, so you can rest assured that your belongings are in good hands. The door-to-door shipping service gives you the convenience of travelling light without breaking the bank.
