An Post pick-up and drop-off points
Customers can pick up and drop off their parcels at over 900 post offices, PostPoints and An Post Parcel Lockers in Ireland. When An Post is delivering your parcel, you will receive an SMS and/or email to choose your preferred delivery method.

An Post Parcel Lockers
An Post provides a network of free Parcel Lockers throughout Ireland to let customers manage collections and deliveries easily. Lockers are subject to the opening hours of their location. In areas with 24/7 access, they are open around the clock. Items are held in Parcel Lockers for 48 hours after delivery. If they have not been collected, they are removed and taken back to the delivery depot.

Does An Post deliver on Saturday or Sunday?
An Post offers Saturday deliveries in urban areas throughout Ireland, but they do not deliver on Sundays or public holidays.
At what time does An Post deliver parcels?
An Post deliver parcels between 8 am and 5 pm on weekdays and between 8 am and 12 pm on Saturdays.
How long does An Post take to deliver in Ireland and internationally?
An Post parcel delivery times are 1-2 working days for shipments in Ireland. They offer a next-day delivery service which is available in Ireland, the UK and selected European countries.
For international shipments, An Post delivery times are 3-7 working days for Standard Post and 1-5 working days for Express Post.
Is DHL part of An Post?
DHL is not part of An Post, but they collaborate in certain cases. International shipments brought into Ireland by DHL are handed over to An Post for last-mile delivery in areas where DHL does not have operation centres.
What are An Post letter and parcel size limits?
An Post courier service divides mail into four categories to determine the shipping cost. Make sure your item fits within the dimension limits below:

What countries does An Post deliver to?
An Post delivers internationally to over 200 countries. Please note that additional size and weight limits may apply when shipping parcels to certain destinations.

Does An Post courier service deliver to Northern Ireland?
Yes, An Post courier service delivers to Northern Ireland. Brexit has had no impact on letters sent in either direction between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. There are no customs charges for parcels going to or from Northern Ireland, and no forms need to be completed.

Can I ship liquids with An Post?
Liquids are listed as prohibited items by An Post, including water, alcohol, gels, creams, aftershaves and perfumes.
In spite of this restriction, many people send gifts such as toiletries through the post at their own risk. Liquids are not covered by shipping insurance, so you will not be entitled to compensation in the event of loss or damage.

How does An Post Click and Post work?
Click & Post offers a fast and easy way to buy postage labels or book shopping returns online. You don't need a user account, but signing up for free can give you access to some special benefits, especially if you ship regularly.
- Buying postage – After calculating the An Post shipping rate using their website booking tool, pay for your postage, print your label and drop off the item at the nearest available location. If you have no printer, you can present the unique code sent to you via email when dropping off the item.
- Booking shopping returns – With this option, you can choose home collection or drop-off at an available location. If you book a collection, there is no need to print any label as the driver will supply it.
How to use An Post parcel lockers?
If you select a parcel locker delivery, you will receive an access PIN to open it once the parcel is delivered. If you want to send or return an item through an An Post Parcel Locker, scan your prepaid shipping label or your return label at any locker bank. Once your parcel is in the locker, a driver will receive a notification to collect and deliver the item to your recipient.
How long will An Post hold a parcel after a missed delivery?
An Post holds missed parcel deliveries for the following periods:
- 5 working days for Standard Post and Express Post
- 3 working days for Registered Post
- 16 working days if it is delivered from abroad
How do I track An Post international shipments?
To track any domestic or international parcel delivered by An Post, visit their website tracking page, insert your tracking number and press "Track item". The An Post parcel tracking feature allows you to track up to 5 items at a time.
