How heavy is a standard Euro pallet in kg?
A standard Euro pallet weighs approximately 20-25 kg before loading. Euro pallets can be made of 14 different types of approved wood, such as spruce, oak, and alder, so their weight will vary accordingly. For example, spruce is lighter than oak, while mahogany is heavier than oak. Moisture content in the wood will also affect the weight of the pallet.
How much weight do pallets hold?
It depends on the type of pallet and also whether it is new or used. Bear in mind that pallet standards vary in different regions. If you are shipping pallets in Europe, there are four Euro pallet sizes to choose from with different weight limits. If you are shipping globally, there are six pallet sizes approved by ISO. How many boxes can I fit on a pallet?
If you are looking for heavy pallet courier services to ship cardboard boxes weighing the standard parcel limit of 30 kg, you can generally fit 58 boxes on a single pallet. However, it will depend on the size of the boxes, as you should also pay attention to the maximum height allowed for the pallet.
Choose a pallet that can support the weight of your load based on the specifications of the pallet manufacturer. Load the boxes on the pallet and make sure they don't hang over the edge or exceed the maximum height.
What is the maximum pallet weight allowed for delivery?
When booking the delivery of a heavy pallet, it still needs to be within the maximum weight allowed per service. See below the values corresponding to the solutions we offer:
- Box van: up to 1,000 kg
- Curtain-side van: up to 1,000 kg
- Groupage transport: up to 2,500 kg
- Full truckload: up to 24 tonnes
Anything that is larger than a full truckload (13.6 m x 2.44 m x 3 m) or heavier than the maximum limits stated above will be considered special freight.
