What is the difference between commercial and residential pallet delivery?

Shipping pallets to a commercial address means delivery to a registered business address, often at a warehouse or industrial zone. Generally, there is a lot of space at these sites for loading and unloading, so even a large vehicle can perform the pallet delivery.
On the other hand, pallet delivery to a residential address means that the goods are transported to the recipient's private residence. This may be a house or apartment on a busy or narrow street where parking is limited.
Residential pallet delivery may be tricky to perform because they are not spacious enough for freight trucks to park and unload safely. Once you book your delivery service, please ensure there is appropriate space for the truck or van to park and unload the shipment. A good solution is to book a pallet delivery through the Van Service, which is performed by smaller vehicles.

What if I need a small vehicle to deliver a pallet to my residential address?

No problem! Eurosender can arrange for a small van to perform the residential pallet delivery if access to the address is limited. We offer two sizes of vans that can deliver up to 8 pallets at once to a residential address:
  • Box van: 465 x 165 x 180 cm or 13 cubic metres and 1000 kg capacity
  • Curtain-side van: 410 x 210 x 230 cm or 19 cubic metres and 1000 kg capacity (with tail-lift only 700 kg)

What does kerbside pallet delivery mean?

Kerbside pallet delivery is when the shipment is delivered to the nearest kerbside to the selected address. This is typically the case for larger, heavier loads that are harder to deliver directly to the door. The carrier driver will position the vehicle as close as possible to the address and safely unload the palletised goods. Ideally, the delivery contact will be waiting outside to receive the items.

Can I get loading equipment for residential pallet shipping?

Yes, you can. When it comes to residential pallet delivery, equipment such as forklifts or tail-lifts are usually not readily available at the address. When booking residential pallet shipping with us, please indicate if you need any loading or unloading equipment, and our team can arrange it with the carrier for an additional fee.

What happens if I miss my residential pallet delivery?

If your pallet delivery to a residential address fails due to an error on your side, for example, if the address details are wrong or if there is limited access and you did not inform us in advance, we will request a surcharge from you so that the carrier can deliver the pallet. Failure to pay the surcharge will result in delays for you and potential additional costs such as warehouse storage or the shipment being returned.
