FREIGHT TRANSIT TIMES
Freight shipping times vary depending on the transport method, distance and other operational factors. Read more below about how long freight shipping takes for different services.
Road Freight – Van Delivery and Full Truckload (FTL) have some of the shortest transit times among all freight services. Whichever service you choose, you get a whole vehicle dedicated to your load, which is delivered in the shortest possible timeframe. You can get instant quotes from our booking tool for both services.
Some examples of road freight delivery times
Route | Van Delivery | Pallet Delivery |
---|---|---|
London – Inverness | 1-2 business days | 2-8 business days |
Berlin – Paris | 1-2 business days | 2-8 business days |
Madrid – Warsaw | 1-2 business days | 2-8 business days |
Transport via air is another popular option for urgent cargo shipping. You can have your goods delivered in 24h on the same continent or in 48-72h globally. You may also benefit from the same-day collection in some cases, depending on how early you book and on availability in your area.
The estimated transit time for sea freight shipping can range anywhere from 20 to 60 days. Many factors can influence the transit time, such as weather conditions, peak seasons and operational procedures set in place by sea freight carriers, customs authorities and ports. Sea freight shipping is ideal for non-urgent cargo in full containers as it is a safe and cost-efficient solution.
Transport by rail offers shorter delivery times than sea freight but slightly longer shipping times than road freight. It is one of the safest and most cost-effective ways of shipping freight over long distances. Since rail freight transport depends on railway timetables and not on traffic conditions, it is easier to predict the delivery time. The rail freight transit time from China to Europe, from terminal to terminal, and depending on the route, is estimated at 15 to 18 days.
