Can I ship meat with dry ice in the mail or by courier?

Unfortunately, you may encounter a challenge if you decide to ship meat across the country or internationally by mail. The post office imposes some restrictions on shipping perishable food with dry ice, such as raw or frozen meat.

However, there may be a solution! Specialised logistics providers will ship meat across a country as long as you follow the packaging requirements. These companies have special permits required for shipping such products to another location. Not only that, but in order to ship frozen or raw meat, there has to be a specialised vehicle that will ensure the quality of the product stays intact. These are temperature-controlled vehicles in order to maintain their good condition.

Temperature-controlled transport for shipping meat across the country

Temperature-controlled transport is essential when shipping perishable food. These vehicles ensure that the meat avoids some bacteria that can cause harm to people when ingested. By keeping the goods cold or frozen during transit, the logistics providers prevent the growth of bacteria and microbes.

It is important to note that not every logistics provider will offer this type of transportation. Before you ship any items that require keeping a specific temperature under control, make sure you talk to the logistics company. By explaining that you intend to ship frozen or raw meat internationally, they will advise you what kind of service you require. Not only this, but you will ensure you have followed all the packaging requirements for shipping meat already set by the logistics provider.
